For FL students, besides the disclosure we did the pre-test and tested students how much they know about Chinese and China. Afterwards, we introduced ourselves in Chinese by saying

你(nǐ)的(de)  = your

名(míng)字(zì)  = name

叫(jiào)  = is called

什(shén)么(me)？  = what?

你(nǐ)的(de)名(míng)字(zì)叫(jiào)什(shén)么(me)？  = what is your name called?

我(wǒ)的(de)    = my

我(wǒ)的(de)名(míng)字(zì)叫(jiào)…….   = my name is (called)....
